CBN AND PCD INSERTS FOR TURNING ASSEMBLED DIRECT CUTTERS

Cubic boron nitride (CBN) inserts and cutters are used for processing of hardened steels and cast irons, hard alloys of BK group (Co mass share more than 15%), heat-treated, heat-resistant and stainless steels. Important features are: absence of burns, tear-outs, grids of microcracks, stable reception of low roughness of the processed surface, large dimensional stability, and also internal compressing pressure appeared after processing which considerably increase durability of details of machines.
Distinctive feature of cubic boron nitride (CBN) tools is the ability to work in conditions of impact load, that enables it possible to use it at semi-finish and finish operations when processing details with a discontinuous surface, they can process details restored by the method of fusing by composite alloys. Turning boring made of policrystalline diamond are used for rough, semi-finish, finish, sharpening and milling of various marks of fiberglass and plastic, including materials with abrasive filler, plastic ceramics, graphitized carbon materials, high-silicon aluminium alloys on a basis of copper and titanium.
Tools are sharpened by diamond grinding wheels on resin and metal bonds.
The cutters do not loose the cutting ability after 6-10 resharpenings, which are made on universal machines by diamond wheels.
